Hi, I am The Foodsmith although most people call me Jane.
After a lifetime of varied creative careers, endeavors and pursuits I found Food Design. From that moment, all my past skills and experience finally came together into a hybrid profession which fuses my love of food, learning, creative thinking and a practical approach. I found a world were I can use Food as a communication tool, a way to express thought and ideas. A new field of design that thrives on research and practical skills, a conduit for connection, where resourcefulness and curiosity are essential.
My area of expertise, and the space I love to work in the most… is with startup or emergent food businesses who are in the development stage of an idea or product. We work together, using Food Design thinking and Coaching methodologies to implement strategies to move your business through those early startup phases into the place you want to be. I save you time and money by helping you plan your growth and use your resources carefully.
For more established food or food related businesses I can help with bespoke recipe development. If you don’t have the space in your existing kitchen or time on your side… I can create, trial, critically taste and scale up a recipe for you.
